Value Independence. Being able to rely on yourself for
the things that you need, to be able to be self-sufficient. As
l was growing up that's all I wanted. I fiercely wanted my
independence. I suffered as a child feeling like I had to rely on
my parents' income for lodging, things like a roof over my
head and clothes on my back, that I couldn't make my own
life. I was a very precocious child apparently. Independence
is the value of self-determination. The ability to think for
yourself. The right to control your own life. Confidence in the
ability to govern yourself. Is there an area of your life that
still masters you that you need to master in order to feel
