Value Recognition. I feel like sometimes millennials get a bad rap for needing so much recognition. But before there were ever millennials, the studies from businesses about what employees needed the most to feel like they belonged and were making a contribution was to feel recognized. This was the number one thing, to be recognized for doing things at your company, the work that you are paid to do. The people who are really great at this tend to be words of affirmation people. That’s the benefit of making sure you always have someone like this on your team or within your company. Because they don’t hesitate to say it, to give that recognition and they’re so free with it. It costs nothing and it makes people feel so good. My challenge: Identify one thing that you can appreciate and give that recognition to someone today. Notice if that is hard for you. Want answers?
